Cookie policy

These four cannot be refused, because without them the site does not work. Regulation classes them as strictly necessary: a banner claiming you could refuse them would be lying.

• txp_access - keeps you signed in. Fifty-five minutes, unreadable by scripts on the page.
• txp_refresh - renews the session without asking for your password again. Thirty days, unreadable by scripts on the page.
• txp_consent - remembers your answer to the banner. Thirteen months, after which you are asked again.
• NEXT_LOCALE - remembers the language you read the site in.

One more cookie is placed only if you arrive through an expert’s personal link - an address like talkxp.com/r/marie, which they share themselves. If you never came through such a link, it does not exist in your browser.

txp_ref holds a random number. Not your name, not your address, not your IP address, and no advertising identifier. It lives for ninety days.

What it is for: knowing that your visit came from that expert, and only to decide what TalkXp takes from THEIR fee - twenty per cent when we brought you to them, fifteen per cent when they brought you to us. The price you pay is the same either way.

It does not follow you on any other site, serves no advertising, and is never passed to a third party. You can erase it at any time by clearing the site’s data: you lose nothing by doing so.

We would rather say it than leave it out: this cookie is placed without going through the banner, because it serves to compute our own commission and not to follow you around. If you disagree, erase it - or write to us at contact@talkxp.com.

When a payment screen appears, it is provided by Stripe, our provider. Stripe then places its own cookies to detect fraud and secure the transaction - that is what tells a legitimate payment from a stolen card.

They are placed by Stripe, not by us, and we have no access to them. They only appear on pages that involve a payment. How they work is described in Stripe’s own policy.

Your card number never passes through our servers: it is entered directly with Stripe. See the privacy policy.

No advertising tracker. No embedded social network. No audience measurement tool - no Google Analytics, no equivalent. We would rather say it plainly than display an impressive list of partners.

The banner still offers a "measurement" category, and that is deliberate: the mechanism must exist and be honoured before a tool arrives, not after. The day audience measurement is put in place, it will only load with your agreement, and refusing will stay as simple as accepting.

When you fill in a booking request, its draft is kept in the tab’s memory while you go and create an account and come back. It disappears when the tab is closed and never reaches our servers in that form.

The banner lets you refuse everything that can be refused, in one click, from your first visit. Your choice is kept for thirteen months, then the question is asked again.

You can clear the site’s data from your browser at any time: you will be signed out, your language and your banner choice will be forgotten, and any attribution will disappear. Nothing else changes - not your bookings, not your invoices, not the price of your sessions.

A new cookie can only appear after being added here. If one of them required your consent, the banner would be shown to you again - updating a page nobody re-reads is not enough.
